Who we are
Better Managers is an advisory practice led by Dr John Goddard. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Better Managers. You can reach us by phone on +61 412 696 329, by email at [email protected], by post at PO Box 4034, Goonellabah NSW 2480, or through the form on our Contact page.
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
- When you send an enquiry through the website: your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message.
- When you call, write or meet with us: the details you choose to share, including information about your business.
- When you visit the website: technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. Our security and spam-protection services collect this automatically.
We don’t ask for sensitive information, such as health details. Please don’t include it in an enquiry.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, and to provide and arrange our services.
- To keep records of our work with you.
- To keep the website secure and filter out spam.
We don’t sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing. We will only send you news or updates if you ask for them.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run the website and handle email. They use the information only to provide their service to us:
- Amazon Web Services, which hosts the website in Sydney.
- Cloudflare, which delivers and protects the website.
- Google reCAPTCHA and Akismet, which check form submissions for spam.
- Wordfence, which monitors the website’s security.
- An email delivery service, which sends your enquiry to John.
- An off-site backup service, which stores copies of the website.
Some of these providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States. Apart from these providers, we only disclose personal information if the law requires it.
Cookies
The website uses only a few cookies. Our security and spam-protection services (Cloudflare, Wordfence and Google reCAPTCHA) may set cookies to tell people apart from automated traffic. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. The website uses encrypted connections, access to its administration is restricted, and we keep enquiries only as long as we need them.
Access and correction
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting John. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
Complaints
If you’re concerned about how we have handled your information, please contact John first so we can try to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
